Diese Anwendungen bleiben trotz weiterer WEB2.0 Anwendungen für alle Internetnutzer am wichtigsten, sie haben nach aktuellen Studien sogar steigende Nutzungszahlen. Zu den bekanntesten WEB2.0 Angeboten gehören Wikipedia, die Communities MySpace, Facebook und StudiVZ sowie das Videoportal YouTube.
